Main page and some of the others are a WIP for now, I just wanted to get the basics out.

It's entirely meant to be irredeemable, and for the most part an undefeatable threat- not in a godmoddy way but more "the thing that's always there, a looming threat you can't get rid of forever. Temporarily yes, but NEVER forever anymore"The chance to kill permanently left when it embraced the crystal and became a monster I feel, and it's even worse now that it 'died' once.This ties heavily into my original theory where I didn't really want to lean into the gaster headcanons too much beceause i wanted to do soemthing different.Instead, making the mastermind FRIEND and those that distribute the crystals and create the fountains either incredibly corroded darkners (mike) or lightners-turned-monster (dess).While gaster still has a say in my portrayal of the story, he's more an observer that is watching the game unfold.He steps in to fuck around with things every now and then as seen from my portrayal on here (mostly bc i don't think people'd be too accepting of me treating my FRIEND acount as... the gaster equivalent idk) but yea.

It's shapeshifting abilities are not perfected, but it's working on it, you see- it knows that it can't get away with being other people flawlessly for prolongued times, but things like fodder darkners are easier to start with, thus it's imitation of things like pippins and probaby other ones. In reality, this also is it getting better at everything it wants to do to become beneficial to it's job.

It cannot be killed by the tail anymore. It made sure of it. However, it will inevitably develop other weaknesses- none that can permanently kill but more that can disable for a temporary amount of time and give the illusion of death.

Backstory

Once an addison, Mike was a successful "Big Shot" that all of the other Addisons were particularly not fond of for how successful he was in comparison to them. Even then, he tried his best to help them and offer his assistance, even if they thought he was pitying them. The stress from all of this was building in the background of him eventually finding an actual work partner in one of the lesser successful of the group, Spamton.Becoming his partner would be the thing that brought about his downfall, however, for later into their career together they'd start to do work alongside the TV host, Tenna. Something happened then, and Spamton started to pay more attention to Tenna than him. Of course, Mike reacted horribly to this, given he was technically abandoned for the 'new' work partner.In a frenzy, he did everything in his power to sabatogue it while keeping his identity mostly hidden for the first half of all of it- the final straw, however, being the phone call that he made telling Spamton that he "Found out that Tenna was manipulating him and would backstab him."It's unclear how, but it worked. It got Spamton away form Tenna, albeit he didn't seem to want to work with mike anymore either.That would have been fine.But then he was given a shadow crystal by FRIEND, an unfortunate and somewhat accidental meeting that lead to potential being seen in him to be able to distribute the cursed item as well by a higher force that he couldn't even begin to comprehend.And the moment he got that?Everything went downhill.He secluded himself, away from everyone, with only the crystal. He listened to it. Observed it. Observed the madness it caused, the prophecy, all of it. Eventually, it started to do more than just drive him mad- it actually warped his form.Losing his original body, he became a monster- a husk of his former self, lacking resemblance. Barely having memories of anything that his past self went through other than the strong emotions he felt and the basics of why he HAD those feelings.
